What is 3D Secure and what is Strong Customer Authentication?

Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) regulation in Europe requires the use of 3D Secure for card payments. As a customer you'll know this as the extra step involving your bank when paying for things by card - often you'll be sent a code by SMS or you'll have to click a button in your bank's mobile app to confirm you want a transaction to be processed.

To help you get paid quickly and securely, in the background Tixoom uses a payment processor called Stripe. We'll have helped you set up a Stripe account (or linked your existing one) when you first started issuing event tickets through Tixoom.

Tixoom‘s integration with Stripe is already SCA-compliant and supports 3D Secure. To learn more, read Stripe’s guides to 3D Secure and Strong Customer Authentication. This means that where necessary, customers who buy tickets to your events through Tixoom will be prompted to confirm with their bank.
